OLAF strengthens its relations with major international agencies in fighting economic crime

OLAF Director-General, Mr Giovanni Kessler, participated last week in the launching of a new international network to fight economic crime hosted by the New Zealand Serious Fraud Office in Auckland. The Economic Crime Agency Network (ECAN) was set up to establish a forum to meet the specific operational interests of law enforcement agencies fighting economic crime. It brings together agencies from all over the world through operational cooperation and intelligence-sharing, contributing to a better understanding of economic crime and promoting public awareness of such issues.
