OLAF and Eurojust share experiences and expertise in joint training session

30/06/2020

Investigative and judicial teams from the European Anti-Fraud Office (OLAF) and Eurojust, the EU ’s Agency for Criminal Justice Cooperation, met today (30 June) for an online training session designed to deepen and broaden cooperation between the two bodies.

OLAF and Eurojust have worked closely together for many years, and today’s training is the latest in a series of joint knowledge-sharing exercises that have been held regularly between the two organisations over the last few years.

Opening the virtual meeting, Ville Itälä, OLAF’s Director-General, said: “For OLAF and Eurojust to both reap the benefits of collaboration, we need to understand more about how we work, the challenges we face, about where we can collaborate and why we should, about where we can help each other to improve the way we work.”

The training focused on how enhancing judicial cooperation could help the follow-up to judicial recommendations issued by OLAF. Eurojust shared its range of judicial cooperation tools, including coordination centres and joint investigation teams.
