European Ombudsman, European Court of Auditors, European Anti-Fraud Office, and European Public Prosecutor’s Office meeting

The heads of the European Ombudsman, the European Court of Auditors (ECA) the European Anti-Fraud Office (OLAF), and the European Public Prosecutor’s Office (EPPO) met on Wednesday, 8 February 2023, to discuss the EU’s current oversight framework and how it may be improved.

During the meeting, European Ombudsman Emily O’Reilly, President of the ECA Tony Murphy, Ville Itälä, Director-General of OLAF, and European Chief Prosecutor Laura Kövesi reaffirmed the commitment to fulfilling their respective duties in promoting the integrity and accountability of the EU institutions. They noted that their respective investigative and audit work makes a key contribution to safeguarding the integrity of the EU administration.

Ms O’Reilly, Mr Murphy, Mr Itälä, and Ms Kövesi will continue to cooperate closely to reflect on these issues.
