The European Anti-Fraud Office (OLAF) is hosting today the annual Fraud Prosecutors' Conference in Brussels. This year, prosecutors from across Member States and EU experts will discuss the possible effects that the establishment of a European Public Prosecutor will have on the national judicial systems. These discussions are to be seen in the context of the proposal presented by the European Commission last July to set up a European Public Prosecutor's Office (EPPO).

The Conference brings together experts who regularly work on EU fraud cases, which have increasingly taken a cross-border dimension in recent years.

Over sixty practitioners representing all EU Member States will exchange views on issues such as: the added value of cross-border investigations in combatting fraud; the integration of the European Public Prosecutor's Office in the national judicial systems; and the possible impact on fundamental rights.
